What to Expect From eBay Black Friday Sales in 2020
When Will the eBay Black Friday Ad Come Out?
In 2019, eBay had at least one early ad detailing deals that would drop every Friday in November. While a similar situation could occur this year, we're expecting the main eBay Black Friday ad to drop no later than November 23.
When Does the eBay Black Friday Sale Start?
eBay could offer up special deals all November long — and it probably will, if it follows the same trends as other retailers. But we expect the official Black Friday deals to start the day before Thanksgiving. In 2020, that should be November 25.
When Is the Best Time to Shop During Black Friday?
During Black Friday week in 2019, we listed a decent number of deals at eBay every day. But we listed the most offers on Black Friday itself, and those accounted for 29% of the deals we saw at eBay that week. While deals will likely appear throughout November, we still expect Black Friday to be the best day to shop at eBay.
Does Everything on eBay Go on Sale for Black Friday?
Tons of items are sold on eBay, so it stands to reason that many of them will see discounts on Black Friday. In fact, it might be easier to try to think of a product that won't be on sale around the shopping holiday.
The tech category is pretty much guaranteed to be hugely popular, but we also expect to see deals on clothing, household items, and beauty products. Some of the most popular deals we saw in 2019 were a sale on Bose items that took up to 50% off, a power bank for $7, and adidas jogger pants for $16. That's just the beginning, though. We saw plenty of notable deals on Apple products, too, and those are especially worth looking for if you aren't opposed to refurbished or open-box models.
For instance, a refurbished, unlocked iPhone X 256GB phone cost only $415 last year, and an open-box 2015 MacBook Air was only $349. Both of these deals were so good, they earned our Staff Pick designation. Not interested in refurbished or open-box products? New tech items should be part of the sales, as well. Last year, we saw a then-current, unlocked Samsung Galaxy S10+ 128GB phone for $660.
How to Get the Most out of eBay Black Friday Deals
The best way to prep for eBay's Black Friday sales is to peruse their ad as soon as it comes out. (Check out eBay's materials from last year for reference.) This will be especially true if eBay conducts their event similarly to other retailers, with deals spread out across the month. In 2020, it's more important than ever to have a Black Friday strategy, and that requires carefully going through the ads to see what will be available and when.

Make sure you're aware of when deals will be going live. That way, you can jump online and catch them before they're gone.
Be prepared for eBay's site to experience hiccups, too. Many retailers are pushing consumers to do their shopping online this year, and that means we can expect higher amounts of online traffic. While eBay should be better prepared than other stores, it's a good idea to still be ready for slower loading and other related issues. You may have to try to snag a deal more than once, if you can't grab it right away.

Like other retailers, eBay will probably kick off its cyber deals early. We expect to see eBay's Cyber Week deals go live on Saturday, November 28. Deals should last through December 9.
What Will Be eBay's Cyber Monday Deals?
During its Cyber Week sale, eBay will likely cut up to 91% off a variety of categories, including electronics, luggage, tools, apparel, and accessories. Also look for extra in-cart discounts from select categories and vendors.
Watch for wide-reaching discounts, such as gaming items for up to 50% off, fragrances for up to 80% off, designer handbags for $100 or less, Apple products for up to 50% off, and toys for up to 50% off. You can also expect to save up to 45% on holiday decor, up to 40% on vacuums, and up to 60% on select brands of tools.
