Black Friday Airfare Deal Predictions

  • Domestic destinations as low as $20 each way
  • European destinations as low as $100 each way
  • Free (or extremely cheap) airfare bundled with vacation packages

The airfare sales you'll find during the Black Friday season won't be markedly different from the ones you'd find at any other time of year. But they'll be in line with the best prices of the year and include sales from every airline.

Because airfare sales have limited dates and destinations, the number of sales on Black Friday means you get more vacation options. That makes Black Friday a good time to shop, even if prices aren't technically at their lowest.

Expect one-way domestic fares to go as low as $20, with Frontier and JetBlue offering the deepest discounts.

Expect one-way fares to domestic destinations to go as low as $20 each way, with budget-friendly airlines Frontier and JetBlue offering the deepest discounts. More mainstream brands like American Airlines and Southwest should offer fares from $40 to $50 each way. Deals tend to focus on large hub cities, with departure dates in the winter and spring. Here are a couple of examples of the prices you can expect:

  • Philadelphia to Orlando for $24 one-way on American Airlines
  • Las Vegas to Los Angeles for around $40 one-way on Alaska Airlines and Southwest Airlines

This is also a good time to book travel to Europe, with airfare as low as $199 roundtrip. However, destinations for these budget fares are extremely limited, and you won't get the lowest prices for more desirable destinations. Last year we saw these offers:

  • Baltimore to Reykjavik, Iceland for $200 roundtrip from WOW Air
  • Boston to Oslo, Norway for $323 from Icelandair
  • New York City to Milan, Italy for $447 from Emirates

Airlines will also offer bargains on vacation packages. You may not think to check for them, but you can expect to save $100 to $400 by bundling your flight and hotel with your airline. And last year, Expedia offered the best airfare prices by throwing in flights for free if you booked a package to Orlando, New York City, or Chicago.
