Black Friday Windows Laptop Deal Predictions

• Doorbuster laptops (with basic specs) will start at $100
• Most bargain laptops will be priced from $229
• Expect gaming laptops to start at $1,000

When you're looking for PC deals, don't just check big retailers like Best Buy. Sometimes you have to go to the source! Laptop manufacturers have historically run great deals for Black Friday.

Last year, Lenovo took up to 25% off during its sale. And Microsoft offered some of the best deals we'd seen on Dell laptops, including a 13" touchscreen with a then-current Intel Core i7 processor at an all-time best price.

This Black Friday, you'll find doorbuster laptops (with minimalist specs) priced from around $100. Cheaper machines (with current-gen specs) will be a bargain in general, with prices from around $229. However, most midtier laptops will be priced from $530. Last year, Dell Small Business offered a machine with a current-gen Intel Core i5 processor and an HD infinity-edge display at this price.

If you're looking for straight percent-off sales, look to the high-performance machines. More expensive, high-margin Windows laptops have the best chance of seeing significant discounts. We'll see gaming laptops — like Dell's Alienware line — get at least a $300 discount, matching last year's offerings.

Staples also had a good variety of laptop deals last year, and we expect it to repeat that trend in 2018. Dell's site will likely also offer significant discounts on refurbished laptops, but do your homework. Refurb deals are available year-round, and Black Friday refurb prices may not be the best you can get.
