Best Black Friday Smartwatch Ads 2018

• Fitbit Versa Smartwatch + $45 Kohl's Cash for $149.99 at Kohl's
  Why Buy It: Kohl's Cash makes this the best price we've seen

  We expected the Fitbit Versa to hit $200 and be bundled with gift cards. The price of this deal goes below our prediction, and the $45 Kohl's Cash effectively drops it to $104.99.
  
  Shopping elsewhere? Best Buy, JCPenney, and Walmart have it for about the same price.

• Fitbit Ionic Smartwatch + $60 Kohl's Cash for $199.99 at Kohl's
  Why Buy It: Kohl's Cash drops this below our predictions

  We predicted that the Ionic would drop to $190 or less. While this deal isn't quite that low, it's pretty close. Factor in the Kohl's Cash, and you'll basically get this fitness tracker for $139.99. If you don't need $60 in Kohl's Cash for some reason, Best Buy will have the device for the same price.

• Apple Watch Series 3 from $199.99 at Target
  Why Buy It: Great price for last year's model

  With the release of the Apple Watch Series 4, we expected discounts on the Series 3 to come in the form of sitewide coupons. This deal is much better than that, and it's an excellent outright price for still-recent Apple tech. (And it definitely beats Best Buy's Black Friday ad.)
  
  Shopping elsewhere? Macy's is taking $80 off the Apple Watch Series 3. Assuming that's off the list price, that should drop the starting price to fall right in line with Target's deal.

Black Friday Smartwatch Deal Predictions

• Fossil Q smartwatches will drop below $100
• Fitbit Ionic could fall to $190 or less
• Fitbit Versa will cost around $200 and be bundled with gift cards

The newest Fitbit smartwatches — Ionic and Versa — have both been on store shelves for a year or less, but we're already seeing notable discounts. The Ionic was released in October of last year, and by Cyber Monday we'd already seen it drop to $230 ($70 cheaper than retail). Since then, it's fallen even lower, to $194. The smartwatch could hit $190 for Black Friday 2018, though there's a chance it could drop even more.

The Fitbit Versa was released in April of this year. This smartwatch has a list price of $200, but we've already seen several deals from Kohl's that bundled the gadget with $40 to $60 in Kohl's Cash. Additionally, it dropped to $160 outright in another deal. We wouldn't be surprised to see the Versa sold at the full retail price for Black Friday and bundled with gift cards or store credits. However, third-party sellers on eBay or Amazon could drop it to around $160 again.

The LG Watch Style could see discounts again this year (last Black Friday it was $100). Still, the best prices we've seen in 2018 have been on refurbished and open-box models from $80.

If you're in the market for a smartwatch, but want one that's more traditional-looking, Fossil could be an inexpensive choice. We've already seen deals for Fossil smartwatches drop below $100 this year, so we expect to see more of the same for Black Friday 2018.

If you're eyeing a Samsung smartwatch, on the other hand, the Gear Fit2 and Gear S2 could go for $40 to $60 — but they'll be refurbs.

Samsung released its new Galaxy Watch in late August, too. We doubt it'll go on sale for Black Friday. It might come bundled with the newest Samsung smartphones, though.
