Best Black Friday Alexa Device Ads 2018
Amazon Smart Plug with Amazon Echo Purchase for $5 at Best Buy
Why Buy It: Save $20 buying them together
If you want to start your smart home conversion, but don't know where to begin, this deal is a solid option. Amazon's recently released smart plug is only $5 when you purchase an Echo device, and it can be used to control a variety of objects that aren't smart on their own.
Amazon Echo Show for $179.99 at Best Buy
Why Buy It: It beats our predictions by $20
With the latest Echo Show being announced just a couple of months ago, we expected it to hit $200 at most. However, you'll save an extra $20 on this latest tech if you shop Best Buy's sale.
Amazon Echo Plus with Philips Hue Bulb for $109.99 at Best Buy
Why Buy It: It's $10 cheaper than we expected
Setting up a smart home is easier with a device like the Echo Plus, which has a smart hub built in. Even better, you can grab the latest one bundled with a free Philips smart bulb for $10 cheaper than what we predicted.
Amazon Echo for $69 at Target
Why Buy It: Beats last Black Friday's deal
This second-generation smart home speaker was released last year. We saw great savings last Black Friday, but this deal beats those deals by $10. If you've been waiting to buy an Alexa device, this is a great chance to take the plunge.
Amazon Echo Dot for $24 at Target
Why Buy It: It's a whopping 50% off
This third-generation Alexa device was just unveiled in September. It's bigger than the second generation and reportedly offers better sound than its predecessor — and Target is cutting the price in half!

Black Friday Alexa Device Predictions
- Get the Echo Dot speaker for as little as $30
- Shop current-gen Echo speakers from $70
- The new Echo Plus with Hue bulb bundle will be $120
If you're looking to add voice control to your home, we expect retailers to drop Amazon's 2nd Generation Echo Dot to at least $30 around Black Friday. Certain stores could also offer deeper discounts. Additionally, we could see these smart speakers offered in multipacks or bundled with smart home items, if retailers are trying to clear out old inventory.
Plus, Amazon just announced the 3rd Gen Echo Dot. If you're shopping for the latest Dot, know that it should drop to a stand-alone price of around $40. Otherwise, we expect to see multipacks with slight savings. For instance, you could buy two and save $10.
Though Echo Dots don't have the sound quality of larger speakers, they should suit most households just fine. But if you'd prefer a larger smart speaker with better microphones and sound quality, you should be able to get an Echo for around $70 this Black Friday. You might get slightly better discounts with bundles, but those are less common with Echos than with mini smart speakers.
You should also expect some great discounts on higher-end speakers, mostly from Amazon. We'll start with the Echo Plus, which adds a smart home hub to a standard Echo speaker and has just received an update. As with the previous generation, this one comes bundled with a Philips Hue bulb.
The first Echo Plus units dropped $30 for Black Friday 2017, and we're expecting the latest Plus to hit $120, too. However, Target could drop it way down to around $90 (which it did with the first Echo Plus last Black Friday). Shopping the older model? We're expecting it to fall to $80.
Then there's the Echo Show, which is an Echo speaker with a screen. The latest Echo Show will be released just over a month before Black Friday, so we're expecting modest discounts — at best — on this second-gen device. We could see the current buy-two-for-$360 offer still hanging around, but it's reasonable to expect the stand-alone price to drop to $200 from the $230 MSRP.
The Show is also bundled with a free 1-month Hulu trial right now. The offer must be redeemed by January 9, 2019, so it could still be around for Black Friday, making any price drops more appealing. Any first-generation Shows hanging around could drop to $130.
