Rumor Roundup: Kindle Fire 2 Will Be Free? Wii U on Black Friday?

When the Internet runs out of news, it starts making things up. We think this is funny, so we round up all the lies and speculation and put them here. We call it the "Rumor Roundup" and we do it all for you! This week:

  • Kindle Fire 2 Will Be Free with Amazon Prime Subscription?
Who knew I preordered the device two years ago? I'll just sit back and wait for mine to arrive, shall I? [Gather]

  • That Apple iTV Will Be a Set-Top Box?
Yeah, remember when we were all sure it was going to be a TV? (Well, when everyone else thought that and I made snarky jokes about it?) Yeah. Now it's a set-top box that's somehow not an Apple TV, but something else. But certainly not a TV, either. Maybe it's a set-top TV TV; a small TV that sits on top of your current TV? With Siri, so everyone will want it. [PCWorld]

  • The iPad Mini Will Have a Thinner Bezel?
You know that someone out there is already making an appointment to have their thumb-bones shaved down, so that they can hold the new device without their big ole digits getting in the way of the screen. [Apple Insider]

  • Microsoft Surface RT Tablets Will Sell for $199?
Well hello, Microsoft! When did you decide to get smartly competitive? (The next question is: How are you going to self-defeat yourself, this time?!) [AfterDawn]

  • Wii U Will Ship the Week of Black Friday, Preorders This Week?
This is the same "So Many Children Left Disappointed for the Holidays" strategy that was so effective for the release of the Wii. Hope you like the sound of your kids crying, because that's what Christmas is going to sound like this year. [GameNGuide]

Kindle Fire 2 Will Be Free with Amazon Prime Subscription? If this is true I'm in! It's a great service and a good product. Netflix would be cancelled, already cancelled Hulu Plus! The cost is minimal and would be a great B Day or other Hooliday gift to give someone.

Can't wait to see if this comes true.
