Target doesn't mess around when it comes to Cyber Monday. In 2017 and 2018, we posted more Staff Pick deals from Target on Cyber Monday than we did on Thanksgiving and Black Friday combined. And these Staff Picks were offers we deemed the "best of the best"!
Get ready for this year's Target Cyber Monday sale with our below guide, which offers info on the best time to shop, the deals to expect, and more.
Yes, Target typically has a Cyber Monday ad! Last year, the ad came out the day before Cyber Monday. This year, that day will be Sunday, December 1.
In addition to Cyber Monday deals, Target's ad will likely feature a Sunday-only discount on holiday decor, plus deals that will be active later in Cyber Week.
If you don't want to wait that long, look for a Cyber Week press release from Target before Black Friday arrives. Last year's release highlighted various Cyber Week offers and came out the Monday before Black Friday. That's November 25 in 2019.
The true sale falls on Cyber Monday itself, when Target will almost certainly offer an extra 15% off sitewide. Although some deals will likely become active earlier, shoppers should wait on them until Cyber Monday to bag the best prices.
Similarly, while we expect some deals to continue into Cyber Week, Target will likely offer new deals as the week progresses. So any items you want that are available on Cyber Monday should be purchased then for the best price.
Target has offered a sitewide 15% off discount on Cyber Monday for the past four years. Because of that streak, we're expecting this offer to return again in 2019. Broad discounts like this one are rare for Target. Your best bet is to start shopping as soon as the 15% off coupon goes live on Cyber Monday morning.
In many ways, the Cyber Monday sale is actually bigger! While Cyber Monday lacks the doorbuster deals of Black Friday, Target's sitewide 15% off discount leads to a wide variety of price lows.
Almost half of the Target Cyber Monday deals we listed last year were electronics deals, and all of those electronics offers we put up that day were Staff Picks. The Target Cyber Monday sale was a great place to find smart speakers and streaming media devices, with lowest-ever prices on Google Chromecasts, Amazon Echo Shows and Echo Dots, and even Nvidia Shield streaming media players.
Gaming and toys is another strong category at Target on Cyber Monday, as the extra 15% sitewide discount stacked with existing sales in 2018. We also saw multiple great deals on console accessories, including a pair of Nintendo Switch Joy-Con controllers for $9 under the lowest price we'd seen on Black Friday.
You'll find terrific deals on home and garden items, as well, from home security products to small appliances. Last year, we found the best price we'd ever seen on a single Nest indoor home security camera, as well as a 3-quart Instant Pot Duo Mini for $51.
Looking to fill out your closet? Target offered a buy one, get one 60% off deal on all apparel and accessories during Sunday and Monday of Cyber Week. And it took 30% off Target-exclusive home goods later in the week.
Also keep an eye out for a sale on books. Books, from Target? Actually, yes! For the past two years, the retailer has offered a discount on books on Cyber Monday. Last year, it was $5 off orders of $20 or more, which stacked with the extra 15% off sitewide.
If you want to snag the best deals, make sure you're a RedCard holder. RedCard holders generally get an extra 5% off their purchases. Plus, if you use a RedCard, you can bag free shipping with no minimum... although during the last holiday season, Target offered free 2-day shipping with no minimum to all shoppers, so we might see a repeat this year.
Also note that Target loves to offer gift cards, especially if you buy more than one of an item or spend over a certain amount in a specific category, like beauty products or baby items. Keep an eye out, because if those offers stack with the sitewide 15% off discount, they can turn a deal into a must-buy.
Another way you can save is to download Target's app. Sometimes the retailer offers exclusive deals and coupons through the app.
