To be eligible for military discounts at Lowe's, it's important to first be a member of the military. This probably seems obvious, but it's important to establish ground rules – just ask the military. (It's also acceptable to marry a member, sort of like a low-stakes green card marriage, but for 10% off power drills.) Once this has been accomplished, you then have to involve the actual store, by going to Lowe's military discount registration page. Select "Verify with ID.me" and follow the instructions to verify your identity. Once that's complete, you'll have to create or sign into a MyLowe's Personal Account. This is free, and only requires a name, phone number, primary address, email address, and a password. This should see your Lowe's account updated to verified military status. Current spouses can also sign up for military discounts at Lowe's via the same process.

Are Lowe's military discounts available both online and in-store?

The great news is, once you're signed up, you can take advantage of Lowe's military discount on tools, decor, and most everything else both online and in-store. If you can think of another way to shop at Lowe's, maybe it's valid that way too, but for now, we'll focus on those two.

To use the discount in-store, you'll need to present a valid photo ID and MyLowe's card or phone number at checkout. They'll accept the usual forms of ID: valid driver's license, state- or federal-issued ID card, Department of Defense ID card, or passport or passport card. (For spouses, the last name must match the registered service member's last name, unless you've independently enrolled.)

Are Lowe's military discounts stackable?

Lowe's website has the usual boilerplate about reserving their right to change or rescind the discount at any time, but that's unrelated to your specific account, which should last as long as you do, provided you abide by the terms. Lowe's military discount isn't capped by any annual limit either, so you can shop as much or as little as you like, and enjoy the benefits every time.

What other discounts does Lowe's offer?

Since 2021, Lowe's has offered a First Responder Discount. This isn't an always-applicable discount like the military discount, however, instead coming in the form of a coupon (or number of coupons) around October. First responders verify their identities in the exact same way as we detailed above for military members. We'd expect that if Lowe's offers First Responder discounts online in 2024, it'll be in that September/October period.

Lowe's also offers an employee discount, which takes 10% off store merchandise, with deeper discounts on select items throughout the year. If you're looking for a volume discount, there's the Lowe's MVPs Pro Rewards Program — you'll need to register under your business, and then you'll be eligible for a wide range of benefits and savings. Sadly there's no discount program for senior citizens or students.

You can also sign up for a Lowe's Advantage Card Credit Card, which takes 5% off eligible purchases (but can't be used in conjunction with the military discount). Aside from that, the obvious big hitter for Lowe's is their Black Friday sale. In recent years, early discounts have started as early as late October, with the main sale starting around November 16.
