Rumor Roundup: Apple TV? Google TV? iWatch? Dr. Strange?

Published

When the Internet runs out of news, it starts making things up. We think this is funny, so we round up all the lies and speculation and put them here. We call it the "Rumor Roundup" and we do it all for you! This week:

  • Apple's Next-Gen Apple TV Will Stream Live TV, Allow Skipping of Commercials?
Skipping commercials (and thus their ad revenue streams) has not gone over well with TV channels. But aims to get around their objections by taking a different approach: Jumping the user two minutes into the future. Seriously, though, Apple's going to be the first company to time travel, right? [VentureBeat]

  • Google to Announce a TV-Over-the-Internet Service?
This differs from Google TV in that this time Google is actually talking to content providers before announcing it. [UberGizmo]

  • Will You Be Able to Choose What Your Moto X Phone Is Made of?
Snips and snails and puppy dog tails! That's what the Moto X is made of ... and why PETA is furious about it. [Android Authority]

  • Is Apple Hiring People from the Medical Industry for Their iWatch?
These medical professionals will design bio sensors for the company's new smartwatch. "My watch is reporting that I have dangerously low levels of industrial design! Get me to an Apple Store, STAT!" [PowerPage]

  • Is Joseph Gordon Levitt Playing Doctor Strange?
So, let's get this straight: The cop, who is actually Robin, takes over for Christian Bale to become a wizard? And this all takes place inside Leonardo DiCaprio's mind? [SlashFilm]

  • Will the iPhone 5S Be Delayed So It Can Get a Bigger Screen?
The delay is because each of the phones would need to stay in its growth medium for an extra couple of weeks before being harvested. Question: Would we still use smartphones if they were grown in vats or raised like animals? [PCMag]

  • Will The HTC Z4 Have Dual SIM Cards?
Now you can call your own phone. Hey, it's helpful when you just need to talk to someone who understands you. [UberGizmo]
