Last-Minute Shopping: Stores with Christmas Eve Pickup and Extended Hours

Have you put off your holiday shopping until the absolute, very last minute? Are you now reeling as you calculate the costs of expedited shipping? Well fear not, because you can still find gifts for your loved ones thanks to in-store pickup.

Here's a list of national and regional "click-and-mortar" stores that'll let you shop online and pick up your gifts through Saturday, December 24. When shopping, keep in mind that closing times for each store may vary by location and some stores feature a clear "order by" time, while others do not. We recommend giving your local store a call (or checking its hours online) before placing any orders. Also, it's worth keeping these pointers in mind before heading out to the store:

• Print and bring your confirmation email, receipt, or order number
• Bring valid ID (such as a driver's license) and the credit card you used for your purchase
• Don't wait in line if you don't have to — look for an in-store pickup kiosk or desk once you've arrived

"Click-and-Mortar" Stores: Order Online, Pick Up in Stores:

Apple Store: Place your order online (of select in-stock products) and you can pick it up in-store within an hour.

Babies "R" Us: Place your online order (look for items with the "store pickup" logo) any time before 2 pm local time on December 24 and you can pick it up in-store minutes later.

Best Buy: Place your online order any time before 3 pm local time on December 24 and you can pick it up in-store as early as 45 minutes later.

Fry's Electronics: Place your order online and it should be ready for in-store pickup in about 20 minutes.

GameStop: Place your online order (look for items with the "Pickup @Store" logo) and you can pick it up in-store the same day. Payment is due in-store.

Kmart: Place your order online (look for the "store pickup" icon on select merchandise) and you can pick it up in-store.

Lowe's: Place your order of in-stock merchandise online by 5 pm local time on December 24 and you can pick it up in-store 20 minutes later.

Micro Center: Place your order online and it should be ready for in-store pickup in about 18 minutes.

Nordstrom: Place your order online (look for "Pick Up In Store") and you can pick it up in-store within the hour.

Sears: Place your order online (look for the "Buy online - Pick up in store eligible" icon on select merchandise) by 4 pm local time on December 24 and pick it up in-store. Your order will be ready within 5 minutes of your arrival, or you'll receive a $5 store credit.

Toys "R" Us: Place your online order (look for items with the "store pickup" logo) any time before 2 pm local time on December 24 and you can pick it up in-store minutes later.

Stores that Will be Open on Christmas Eve:

These stores don't offer guaranteed online ordering with in-store pickup, but they are open on Christmas Eve. Plus, several stores show you their in-stock quantities online, and in some cases, let you reserve an item in advance.

• Macy's: Most stores open until 6 pm local time; online inventory access on select items
