Amazon has decided to grace Prime users with yet another exclusive event in 2023! Prime Big Deal Days will happen in October, but how will it differ from the Prime Day we saw in July? Will it have different deals? Will it be a preview of Black Friday? Check out our guide below for everything you need to know ahead of this huge event.

What Is Prime Big Deal Days?

Prime Big Deal Days is Amazon's 48-hour event that serves as a kickoff to the 2023 holiday season. While we don't have all the details yet, we do know that Amazon is offering several special promotions ahead of the event. Plus, the retailer notes that brands like Dyson, Sony, Barbie, SharkNinja, iRobot, LG, Peloton, Jabra, and more will have discounted items, as well.

When Is the Prime Big Deal Days Sale?

Prime Big Deal Days will start at 3 am ET on October 10 and run for 48 hours.

Prime Big Deal Days vs. Prime Early Access Sale

These two events are alike in a lot of ways. Essentially, the only thing that's changing is the name and the inclusion of Invite-only deals. (More information on those below!) But in both cases, these events serve as the unofficial start to the holiday shopping season for many.

While some treat Black Friday as the real start to holiday shopping, the pandemic shifted things quite a bit. In 2020, Prime Day was moved to October; that's when Amazon learned shoppers are happy to fill their carts long before the end of November. Then last year, the retailer held the Prime Early Access Sale on October 11-12, and now a year later, they're holding the Prime Big Deal Days on October 10-11.

What Should You Buy During Prime Big Deal Days?

Prime-exclusive shopping events are an excellent opportunity to shop for Amazon goods and services, but the deals will also extend to more than just Amazon brands.

What to Expect From the Prime Big Deal Days Sale in 2023

Amazon first introduced these special offers during Prime Day earlier this year, and they're bringing them back for the Prime Big Deal Days event. Prime members can go ahead and sign up for these offers starting now; then during the event, they'll receive an email. If you're able to buy, you'll receive instructions on how to purchase the item at the exclusive deal price, but you'll also receive an email if you aren't selected to purchase the deal. It won't be fun if that happens, but at least you'll know for sure.

Invite-only deals for Prime Big Deal Days currently include the following:

These are just some of the earliest deals Prime members can sign up for right now, but there's a good chance we'll see more Invite-only deals pop closer to the event.

You don't have to wait for Prime Big Deal Days to save. Select Amazon devices are discounted right now, so add them to your cart and get a head start on your shopping! Take up to 65% off a 3-pack of eero Pro Mesh WiFi systems, for example, or up to 45% off select Echo bundles. You can also snag up to 30% off select Kindle bundles, including the Kindle Paperwhite Kids essentials and Kindle Scribe essentials bundles. Shoppers can also save up to 40% on select Fire TVs right now, such as Fire TV 32" 2-Series smart TVs and the Fire TV 65" Omni Series.

If you're a Prime member who hasn't tried Amazon Music Unlimited yet, then you're in luck: you can get four months of the service for free. But if you're already a subscriber, you can upgrade to a Family Plan for no extra cost for four months. What if you haven't tried the service yet, and you want a new Echo device while you're at it? Amazon has you covered there, too — buy one month of Amazon Music Unlimited and get the new Echo Pop for just $4.99.

Have you tried Amazon Photos yet? If not, the retailer wants to reward you for doing so. Upload a photo to Amazon Photos, and you'll receive a $15 Amazon credit for free. This special offer expires at 2:59 am ET on October 8, so don't wait too long to take advantage of it.

Sign up for Invite-only deals, snag Amazon credits, and save on Grubhub orders now via Prime perks.

Note that you'll have to use the credit quickly, so don't expect it to hang around indefinitely. The credit must be used by the end of Prime Big Deal Days, so you only have until 2:59 am ET on October 12 to redeem it. Additionally, it'll only apply to eligible orders of $30 or more on products sold by Amazon.com or Amazon Digital Services LLC.

Prime members can already get a year of Grubhub+ for free, but to celebrate Prime Big Deal Days Amazon is going one step further. You'll need to be a Grubhub+ member in order to take advantage of the offer, but you can save $5 off your order of $25 or more via the code "PRIME5". This promotion is valid through 2:59 am ET on October 10.

Prime members who want to explore Prime Video offerings can subscribe to BET+ on Prime Video Channels for just 99 cents per month for up to three months. Shoppers can also save up to 50% off new and popular titles when they rent or buy via Prime Video.

Prime members who shop at an Amazon Go store and spend $10 on their trip will receive $3 off another future Amazon Go visit. This particular promotion is valid through October 11, and the $3 credit is valid through November 25.

Check Out 'Buy With Prime'

Earlier this year, Amazon introduced "Buy With Prime" as an option for Prime members to shop and save at more than just the mega retailer. Even better, you don't have to wait until Prime Big Deal Days to take advantage of the savings associated with Buy With Prime. Shop early and save up to 75% on a variety of items, including groceries, beauty, electronics, personal care, and much more.
