Lacking the former, you're both cooling and heating the inside air. Lacking the latter, they suck hot humid outside makeup air inside, thru cracks or gaps in the shelter.
Odd the side photo shows what is clearly an empty XT60 shaped connector hole for low voltage DC input but this unit is AC only.
If you're camping off-grid (solar), you don't want to waste precious solar power on DC-AC and AC-DC conversion inefficiencies, particularly since the compressor inside this unit is very likely low voltage DC.
