Two cents. Everyone has one ... or two? (Wouldn't that be four cents, then?) Well, however many cents you have, we've just made it easier for you to share them with us. In addition to commenting on our features, you can now also share your thoughts on our deals as well. Just create a mydealnews account, or log in to an existing one, and start telling us the facts (as you see them). Remember to be kind and courteous though! Just because you can share your two cents doesn't mean you should be in-cents-itive.
Thank you DN. You have really made shopping for online deals a breeze. This is the first website I check when looking for deals. However, unfortunately this not the only website I need to check. This is because, time and again I kind of feel that DN misses out on some impressive deals, especially for amazon. For example the canon T4i is listed to today (12/12/2012) for $599 (including kit 18-55 kit lens), probably the best price of the year for a top selling DSLR.
I am wondering if you could please post the system requirements (Mac and PC) for software deals listed in the newsletter. This would be useful to everyone and would save many unnecessary questions about whether to go ahead and purchase or download items listed. Thanks for listening.
I am so thankful for dealnews. I check it everyday and sometimes as much as 4 times a day, just to make sure I didn't miss anything. I have the mobile app too. I've told many friends and family, and they were skeptical at first, however, most of them are now dealnews followers. Thank you for all your hard work, cuz I know it takes a lot of work to put this together, let alone shop for all the deals. I'm grateful for the opportunity to let you know what a fantastic site this is. Thank you.
I've been waiting for this for YEARS. Thanks so much guys. Here's hoping people stay polite and courteous on this wonderful site. Also agree that a thumbs up or rating of some sort is a great idea. I'd love to let others know that I either "have the product and like it (or dislike)" or "have the product and this is a great deal" with a simple click. Again, thanks for the great new feature!
Wish there was a like or thumbs up icon too. I rarely add comments but would like or thumbs up deals that i really like or recommend. Sorry, am not being demanding just being honest on what i'll be using more often. :)
There's another "deal type" site that allows comments, and most of those are jerks trying to be funny rather then helpful. I don't post there because a serious helpful post gets a sarcastic response from the less than serious users. This is my "Go To" site, so I'm hoping for better here.
@keneden I am glad you are excited! When you click Post Comment, you should be prompted to log in. After logging in, you should be redirected back to the page you were on and your comment should not be lost. If it's not working this way, please let us know.
@hobo05 we have been using Disqus on our feature articles for a long time now. They were a great partner to get our feet wet with commenting on dealnews. We have made a decision to take the comment system in house so we can control the user experience more tightly and have the content be part of our site which I believe adds more for the user as well.
This is a long time coming, hope you guys don't get too much spam. If you do, you might want to outsource the commenting system to something like Disqus which many have done to avoid the common pitfalls of comments management
Thank you very much! I don't know how many times I've bought something from deals posted here and suffered from either poor service or product (sometimes both!) and would've wanted to share with others.
Recommendation: gray out box (disable input) if not logged in.
Can't wait to see comments about deals sold out, same products elsewhere for similar costs, genuine feedback on other products to consider, etc.
I hope you guys are heavy-handed when dealing with overt spammers.
