The 2020 Amazon Fashion Event is finally here, deal-seekers! Called the "Big Style Sale", you can expect to save up to 50% off major brands like Levi's and adidas; however, Amazon has plenty of its own brands included in the sale as well.

With Amazon Prime Day 2020 being postponed until at least September, this is a great opportunity to stock up on clothing with deep discounts. While it won't replace Prime Day in terms of savings, it's still worth shopping!

When Is the 2020 Amazon Fashion Event?

The Amazon fashion sale is slated to start on June 22, and could run between seven and 10 days.

What Will Be Discounted During the Amazon Fashion Sale?

According to CNBC, an Amazon spokesperson stated that the sale will have "seasonally-relevant deals from both established and smaller fashion brands." It's not clear what items will be on sale, though, or if the sale will be open to everyone or only Prime members.

What to Expect From an Amazon Clothes Sale

Fashion is not a new category for Amazon, and historically, we've seen the online retailer hold a number of fashion sales with great deals. It tends to discount its own brands frequently, with discounts of up to 40% or 50% off.

Amazon also hosts sales on particular types of clothing. In the past year, for instance, we've seen women's dresses for under $20, men's coats and jackets for under $50 or up to 50% off, activewear and dress shirts at up to 30% off, and sleepwear at up to 35% off.

Watch for Amazon to discount its own clothing brands by up to 50%.

An Amazon clothes sale can focus on specific brands, too. We've seen C9 Champion clothing at up to 30% off on Amazon, Hanes baby clothing at up to 35% off, adidas items at up to 40% off, American Apparel products at up to 25% off, Under Armour gear at up to 40% off, and Levi's clothing at up to 50% off.

Why Is Amazon Hosting a Fashion Sale?

Amazon is most likely hosting a June fashion sale because many retailers need to clear out extra inventory that's stacked up over the past few months. Due to the pandemic, Amazon had to move to prioritizing household and medical goods through mid-May.

What About Other Clothing Sales?

June tends to be a strong month for sales marketed as "end of season," "friends and family," "clearance," and similar terms. This year, we expect some retailers to hold off on those events in order to compete with Amazon's fashion sale. So while Amazon is hosting its own big summer sale, be sure to check your other favorite stores to see if they're holding competing sales — you could find even better savings.
