5 Editors' Choice Freebie Deals: Starbucks Coffee, Photo Prints, Beer Glasses

By Joshua Nichol-Caddy, dealnews contributor

You won't have to pinch pennies this month. Not only is it the shortest month of the year, but this roundup of five freebies are set to make your wallet happy. These Editors' Choice deals are all free and include coffee at Starbucks, a chalice from Stella Artois, and portraits from Sears that will help your exhausted debit card hibernate until March.

  1. 16" x 20" Custom Portrait
    Store: Sears Portrait Studio
    Price: Free via printable coupon
    Lowest By: At least $85
    Expires: March 31

Is It Worth It? In addition to the free 16" x 20" custom portrait via printable coupon, this deal also waives the session fee and takes 20% off the purchase of more prints; this picture-perfect deal thereby ties our mention of last month as the best deal we've seen for this type of portrait from this vendor.

In need of a smaller print? This printable coupon gets you a 10" x 13" customized wall portrait with a waived session fee, too, and provides a savings of at least $20.

  2. 25 4x6" digital prints
    Store: Walmart
Price: Free via coupon code and in-cart with free in-store pickup
    Expires: March 31

Is It Worth It?: Snap a few shots in your favorite outfit and don a 1,000-watt smile, then sign up for a Photo Center Account at Sears to cash in on this freebie. You'll receive a promotional code via email that will score you 25 4x6" digital prints (via 1-hour option) for free in-cart. This deal ties our mention from last week as one of the best such offers we've seen for these prints from Walmart.

  3. Tall Cup of Starbucks Blonde Roast Coffee
    Store: Starbucks
Price: Free via printable coupon EXPIRED
    Lowest By: $3
    Expires: February 22

Is It Worth It?: The early bird gets the coffee with this deal from Starbucks. Get yourself a tall cup of Starbucks Blonde Roast coffee for free and stay caffeinated until Wednesday. Just install the Starbucks app on Facebook and you'll receive a printable coupon good for your cup of Joe. This deal ties last month's mention and is the best no-strings-attached freebie we've seen from Starbucks since October.

  4. Stella Artois Personalized Chalice
    Store: Stella Artois
    Price: Free via coupon code
    Lowest By: $11
    Expires: March 15

Is It Worth It?: All that coffee might cause some jitters, so slow it down by sipping a glass of Stella Artois from your free personalized chalice. You'll have to either purchase a qualifying product to receive a code for this offer, or request one by mail by sending your name, address, and age to Stella Artois Custom Engraved Chalice Code Request, PO Box 753256, El Paso, TX 88575-3256. This $11 value is the first we've seen of this custom freebie since last spring.

Why not add to your growing collection of free drinking vessels with 2 George Killian's pint glasses, also available for free after entering your birthdate and filling out a short form, via UPC code "071990764005". The first such freebie we've seen from George Killian's, you'll receive both the George Killian's Irish Red Pint Glass and the George Killian's Irish Stout Pint Glass.

  5. 1-Year Magazine Subscriptions
    Store: Rewards Gold
    Price: Free
    Lowest By: $5

Is It Worth It?: At a price $5 under our mention of a Wired subscription from yesterday and the lowest price we've seen for any of these magazines, you can enjoy reading one of nine 1-year subscription for free. Titles include The Economist, Forbes, Martha Stewart Living, and Wired (pictured). This deal is available only to Rewards Gold members, so you'l first have to register for a Rewards Gold account, then refer a friend, fill out a survey, complete a product review (depending on the title, you may need to complete several reviews), and eagerly await the magazine to appear in the mail.

Great deal none interest me sorry
I received my glass with the requested personalization. It was a long process but I have no complaints
The George Killian's doesn't appear to work, getting the message, "Sorry, buddy - you may not be eligible for redemption, but you’re always welcome at w.georgekillians.com[/." Maybe it has to do with a California address?
The free Stella glass was a promotion offered last year, and everyone I've heard from never received it. Pretty sure they're building their email list without delivering.
for the free Starbucks coffee they want a cell phone number tied to your facebook account!
