When it comes to working out on a regular basis, you may find that having comfortable activewear makes it easier to build that routine. After all, clothing that can keep you cool, allow for flexibility, and wick your sweat away can make an arduous exercise regimen feel that much more rewarding.

If you're looking for activewear that ticks these boxes and doesn't break the bank, then you need to be shopping at Target. The bull's-eye retailer has activewear for athletic enthusiasts of all ages, including women, men, girls, and boys. Check out our guide below for all the best Target activewear items to add to your wardrobe!

What Are Target's Activewear Brands?

Target has a couple of activewear brands in-house, although the more popular one is probably All in Motion. This line boasts Target athletic wear for women, men, girls, and boys and features like moisture-wicking capabilities, water-resistance, 4-way stretch, and secure pockets (because yes, pockets are important, even in workout clothing).

The other activewear brand is JoyLab, which has more traditionally feminine styles of clothing. These pieces may not have the same features as the All in Motion activewear — like moisture-wicking capabilities — but they do have cute designs. You can opt for pleated skorts, cinch-front racerback bras, 1-shoulder bras, and other items.

The Top 4 Types of Target Activewear to Buy

Leggings and Athletic Pants

Whether you want to become an advanced yoga practitioner, finally check out what the buzz is about with Pilates, or just strength train, know that leggings make a great addition to any workout wardrobe. Prices for the All in Motion brand are super reasonable, too. We saw them starting at around $12 to $16 for girls and boys, while leggings for adults may begin at $14 on sale. If you're shopping regular-priced items, though, you can expect those to start around $20, which still isn't a bad deal.

Prefer athletic pants instead? All in Motion has a fair amount of choices in that category, too. You'll find joggers, but also straight-up cozy pants to lounge around in if you can't be bothered to work out one day. As for prices, we saw them start around $10 for kids' items, while adults can snag comfy athletic pants or joggers from about $20 at regular price.

If you're looking for JoyLab leggings, be aware that they're on the more expensive end — $34 or so — and only a few options may be available. Target also has a very limited selection of JoyLab joggers, and we saw prices for those starting around $29.

Shorts and Skorts

When the temperatures rise, shorts and skorts may be the clothing that really makes a workout bearable. If your area is in the middle of a heat wave, then odds are you don't want to be wearing leggings or pants while you're breaking a sweat.

Expect Target's activewear shorts to start around $6 for kids and $10 for adults, depending on the style you choose to shop.

Target's All in Motion line has plenty of shorts, bike shorts, and skorts to shop if you need pieces that keep you feeling cool while you go through your exercise routine. Expect athletic shorts for kids to start around $6, while adult-sized shorts tend to be priced from $10. We saw kids' bike shorts start at $12, too, and adult bike shorts going from around $16. And if you prefer the skirt look with the functionality of shorts, look for skorts to start around $14 for kids and $25 for adults.

Want to see what JoyLab has to offer? At the time of publication, we found only one pleated skort, and it was going for $22. If you want a bigger selection, All in Motion has way more to offer.

Shirts

While Target has activewear solutions to suit any weather or activity, if you're looking to stay cool during your workout, you'll probably want clothes in the tank top, T-shirt, or maybe polo shirt category. We saw kids' tank tops and sleeveless shirts starting at $6 and $8, respectively, while adult sizes are typically priced from $10-$12 or so.

JoyLab shirts are available in both long- and short-sleeve varieties, as well as sleeveless options. Choices are once again pretty limited — at the time of publication, only 10 JoyLab shirts were available to choose from in the "workout tops" category. Expect prices to start at $16 and go as high as $30, depending on the style you purchase.

Sports Bras

Some people work out in a sports bra rather than in some kind of shirt, as this type of bra can keep you cool and offer support. If you're in the market for one of these items, know that Target's All in Motion line has four primary types to shop:

Curious about JoyLab sports bras? We found about 10 options to choose from, with prices starting at $11.
