First of all, you'll need to head over to Home Depot's military discount registration page. There, you'll see a prompt to "Register Now" via SheerID. Registering via SheerID requires you to choose your status (active duty, Gold Star family, military reserves, or veteran) and your branch of service. The discount is available to members of any of the following branches:

  • Army
  • Navy
  • Air Force
  • Marine Corps
  • Coast Guard
  • Space Force
  • National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA)
  • US Public Health Service Commissioned Corps (USPHS)
  • National Guard

You can also register as a spouse of an eligible member who is currently enrolled to get military discounts at Home Depot.

Home Depot's general return policy dictates a 90-day window for most purchases, which – as we said above – extends to a full year for purchases made with a Home Depot store or commercial card. They offer no verbiage to indicate that this changes for items purchased with the military discount. Tally ho.

What other discounts does Home Depot offer?

Home Depot doesn't offer many discount programs, so if you're availing of their military discount, you should feel like you're part of an even more exclusive club. No Home Depot first responder discount, no senior discount, no student discount.
