The long-rumored successor to the Nintendo Switch has finally been officially announced, and it's scheduled to release this year. Details will come in a Nintendo Direct event on April 2 — for now, all we know is the general design has stayed the same, and it will be back-compatible with both physical and digital Switch games. Nintendo have finally announced the release date for the Switch 2 console — June 5, at $449.99. You can currently "register your interest" by signing into your Nintendo account and picking either the regular console edition, or a bundle with a download of Mario Kart World (for $499.99).
The console itself will feature a 7.9" screen with HDR10 and a 1080p resolution (undocked, up to 4K docked, with up to 120fps), enhanced Joy-Con controllers with mouse controls and magnetic attachment, GameChat via the new "C" button, and 256GB storage. Announced games include Mario Kart World, Donkey Bonanza, and The Duskbloods. It will also have back compatibility with select Switch games, with some games getting enhanced editions.
Nintendo Switch Online will also begin featuring select Gamecube games, including Luigi's Mansion, Soul Calibur II, Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker, and F-Zero GX. Buy Now at Nintendo

Sony's Mark Cerny just announced the PlayStation 5 Pro, which boasts a faster GPU, improved ray-tracing, and support for PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution. (PSSR is PlayStation's upscaling equivalent of NVIDIA's DLSS or AMD's FSR). Sony's goal with the PS5 Pro is to essentially combine the Fidelity Mode / Performance Mode options in many games to provide the higher fidelity along with a 60 frames per second experience.
