Top Home & Garden Deal

Amazon Brand Early Prime Big Deal Days Deals

Up to 50% off

It's times like this I wish Radioshack had gone on to global omnipotence instead of Amazon. Not for any good reason, you understand. Just so when this sale came around under the Radioshack banner, with everything from office chairs to dehumidifiers and dog chews to thong underwear, I could look at the vast array of things on offer all under one parent brand, and look smug. Look smug, and declare the store to be — wait for it — to be… "Shack of all trades, master of none". I apologize that you now have to shop this sale with the knowledge of the fun we could have had lingering like a teenage regret that comes to haunt your consciousness decades later when you should be falling asleep, but at least the discounts are good.

Top Hat Deal

adidas Men's Gameday 4 Stretch Fit Hat

$10 via code "OFF15"

I get wearing plain hats — it's cold, or your hair is bad, or you're the office's "hat guy" and you don't want to disappoint. I get wearing team hats — it's easier than carrying one of those big foam fingers that used to be so popular all the time. Hats with big brand logos on them I don't quite understand, since I doubt anyone is a fan of adidas the way they're a fan of the Cubs or whatever. But at least the price is right here, and the logo is a tasteful black-on-black situation so you might miss it if you're not looking too closely. And if anyone asks, you can just say it's a Pisan bar graph.

Top Movies, Music, Books Deal

Books, Movies, Music, & Funko at Target

Buy 2, get a 3rd for free

I've heard of so few of the artists on the first page of the music section of this sale that I was tempted to construct a Nordstrom Rack-esque "Guess the Fake Brand" game, but with music artists instead. But of course, the kicker is that I'm simply out of touch, and the vast majority of people do know these artists — that's why they're on the first page. I'm in my Dan Brown "The Secret of Secrets" phase (also on offer in this sale): I stick to what I know, even when it verges on self-parody. All my favorite new bands consist of, like, the guitarist from REM, the drummer from the Screaming Trees, and the multi-instrumentalist who was part of Queens of the Stone Age until he wasn't and no one noticed either way. And yes, that is too specific to be made up.

But c'mon, who's ever heard of "Fleetwood Mac", whatever that is.

Top Garden Deal

Insoma Freeze Protection Plant Cover 2-Pack

$5.99

These plant covers are, I'm sure, perfectly functional. Protect plants from frost. Sure. All I'm saying is, if I owned these covers, I'd be extremely tempted zip 'em up over the plant, then move the plant into a small, concrete room with no windows, where I'd set it up in a chair, shine a huge harsh spotlight directly into its "face", rip the cover off, and demand it tell me where the nukes are being held. The plant obviously wouldn't tell me anything — how could it? — so I'd be forced to start threatening other plants nearby, like Jack Bauer targeting the femoral arteries of his suspects' loved ones. Inevitably, a friend or family member would get me the help I need, while you simply save $17 on some plant protection.

Top Security Deal

TP-Link Security at Best Buy

Up to $130 off

TP-Link are unfortunate that we're in the month of the trick or treat, and their name prominently contains the letters "TP". What are these security cameras made of, Charmin? Haha, you think, what a great dunk. And you're right. But they're not made of Charmin, that would be silly, they're perfectly functional security equipment, made of metal and glass and magic wires. But just like they're not made of toilet paper, we're not made of money, so these Best Buy deal of the day discounts on the perfectly functional security cameras are more than welcome.
