Black Friday Store Hours 2024: What Time Do They Start?

Black Friday is this month, and now is the time for shoppers to put together their strategy for the holiday. Part of crafting that game plan is knowing what stores will be open on Thanksgiving, as well as what time stores will open on Black Friday. Many retailers have confirmed their Black Friday store hours, and for others, we can make educated guesses based on past years. And that's just what we've done!
To help you keep track, we've compiled a comprehensive list of projected and confirmed store hours for Black Friday and Thanksgiving 2024.

Best Buy Holiday Savings

Kohl's Early Black Friday Sale
Up to 60% off + extra 15% offKohl's just dropped its early Black Friday deals this morning. There are 1,000s of discounts in here, including 60% off winter coats, 50% off vacuums and toys, and 30% off LEGO. Coupon code "TAKE15" also cuts an extra 15% off lots of items. Kohl's Cash has increased to $15 with every $50 (it's usually $10) and the free shipping minimum has dropped to $25 (it's normally $49).
Walmart Black Friday Sale Preview
Up to 70% offWalmart's Black Friday prices don't go live until November 11, but you can begin planning your haul now, thanks to these previews of discounts including up to $300 off smart TVs, up to 40% off fashion, up to 30% off laptops, and more. The deals will officially start online at 5 pm ET on November 11, and in-store at 6 am local time on November 15.
Walmart+ memberships are also 50% off right now ($49 for your first year, down from $98) — signing up will let you access these deals at 12 pm ET on November 11, instead of waiting until 5 pm ET.
Target Early Black Friday Sale
Up to 50% offTarget has just kicked off its Early Black Friday sale, knocking up to 50% off kitchen appliances and toys, up to 40% off luggage, and 30% off shoes and clothing. TVs, laptops, and other tech is also on sale. Shipping is free over $35.
Lowe's Black Friday Buildup Sale

What Time Do Stores Open on Black Friday?
Stores' opening times on Black Friday vary, but many welcome customers earlier than they do during the rest of the year. In previous years, Best Buy Black Friday hours began at 5 am, despite many locations opening at 10 am on other days. And Target opened at 7 am; many of their stores open at 8 am otherwise.
What Stores Are Closed on Black Friday?
The list of stores that close on Black Friday is short and tends to feature one prominent name: REI. The outdoor retailer has closed its doors for the shopping holiday since 2015, according to the company, and announced it would do so permanently.
