Hot town, summer in the city! The City of New York, that is. From the bright lights of Midtown Manhattan to the Rockaway Beaches, there's no more vibrant a time to visit the city that never sleeps. And though it can be an expensive place to live, we've found deals on airfare, hotels, and more, that make visiting NYC on a budget easy.

And for the folks who flee NYC in the summer, we've got you covered, too. We found great airfare deals to Europe, plus cruise and hotel deals that make for great escapes.

Have you never been to New York before? Well, now's the perfect time to catch a JetBlue Airways flight (from $47, expires June 25) and explore the city. American Airlines also offers a variety of roundtrip fares (from $119.60, a low by $17; expires June 25) that'll land you in NYC from anywhere in the nation — and even from Canada.

If you're traveling to NYC alone, we recommend making your bed at the centrally located, ultra chic, and highly affordable YOTEL New York at Times Square (from $129, a low by $70; expires June 24). Stays here are perfect for singles: there are twin bed rooms available! While they are compact (YOTEL rooms are modeled after Japanese capsule hotels), they all feature en suite bathrooms, flat screen televisions, free WiFi, and 24-hour room service. The New York City location is the first on U.S. soil, with other locations in London's Heathrow and Gatwick airports and in Amsterdam's Schiphol airport.

If you're more comfortable going the traditional hotel route, you can save up to 55% off your stay at Marriott Hotels & Resorts with nightly rates starting at just $159 (a low by $23; expires July 31). Enjoy the views of Manhattan from your room at the pictured New York Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge, or stay close to the airport at New York LaGuardia Airport Marriott (from $159, a low by $23; expires July 31).

And speaking of hotels, one of our favorite perks (besides the free shampoo and conditioner) is a tasty breakfast. You'll receive complimentary breakfast for two when you book a 3-night stay for two at the Helmsley Park Lane Hotel (from $645, a low by $50; expires June 25). We certainly think a hearty breakfast is the right way to start your day before wandering through Central Park, the Theater District, and Times Square, or trekking to the numerous free events that take place throughout the summer.

If the aforementioned hot summer is driving you out of the city, we also have a few suggestions for rejuvenating vacations away from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. And it starts with escaping the Big Apple on a big boat: this Norwegian Cruise Line 7-night Bermuda Cruise for two (from $938, a low by $60; expires June 30) departs from NYC and cruises right on down to Bermuda where you can exchange the sounds of honking and sirens for the tranquility of rolling waves along the shore.

If cruising isn't your thing, but hot weather suits your fancy, book a roundtrip flight from New York to San Juan, Puerto Rico (from $189.40, a low by $11; expires June 22). Be sure to check out the old fortresses El Morro and La Fortaleza, dine out on Fortaleza Street, take a sunset stroll, and go dancing at least once. For some travelers, PR isn't far enough away from the States. So why not jet set your way to Paris, Barcelona, Rome, Frankfurt, and more with a roundtrip flight to Europe (from $864.91, a low by $138; expires June 30) with Air France. And with the Euro still being more valuable than the dollar, be sure to find a place to stay overseas via Hotels.com; you'll save 10% off select hotels via coupon code "SUMMER40US10".

The hustle and bustle of the greatest city in the world awaits! But if you've got different ideas for a vacation, be sure to check out our daily travel deals for other airfare, hotel, and vacation packages.
