"I like the versatility of brass snare drums. This particular one has a nice ring (dampen it if you like) and a wide tuning range. It uses the same quality brass shell found in Ludwig's Black Beauty snares, left unfinished for a natural patina finish. Also, the P88 strainer is smooth and holds tension well. "
