This week's Rumor Roundup: Apple, Google, more

By policy, dealnews only covers deals that can be tested and verified. But from time to time, we'd like to give you a roundup of rumors, half truths, and outright lies that may or may not affect what you buy. Here's this week's roundup.

Kicking it off is our favorite rumor-generating company: Apple to sign with Vodaphone — or is that O2 — for UK iPhone. Yes, England will soon know the joys of wasting time in line waiting for something that will still be available tomorrow.

Speaking of Vodaphone, are they going to carry the Google Phone as well? And, will the mysterious GPhone be announced by September 7?

Also rumored for release in September is the new iPod "touch", which is said to make its grand debut when Jobs takes the stage September 5th. Two Apple rumors in one week? They must be slowing down in their old age....

... oh wait! Also from Cupertino, (PRODUCT) RED iPod Shuffles and the death of the Apple iPod Hi-Fi. Now that's more like it! Good job, er, Jobs.

As for Apple's arch nemesis, Microsoft, they plan on renaming the Xbox 360 Core to Xbox 360 Arcade to make it sound new and fresh, and to be more descriptive of what it actually is—an ARCADE.

And speaking of old things getting a revamp, does the Starship Enterprise have a new Mister Scott with James McAvoy?

Questions, Questions, Questions.
