This Week's Rumor Roundup: Xbox, Apple, Kid Icarus, more

Published
Here's some of what the internet has to say:
  • Slim Xbox 360?
By designing a slimmer form-factor, there won't be enough room on the front to fit that pesky Red Ring Of Death. Problem solved!
  • Apple has a "Wiimote" controller in the works?
I just know everyone is going to assume this means that Apple is getting into the gaming console biz ... OR that it's further proof of a 3G iPhone ... somehow.
  • New consoles coming in 2010/12?
New Xbox and Nintendo in 2010; PS in 2012.
Xbox? Fine. It'll be 5 years.
Nintendo? By then, you still won't have filled demand for the Wii. PlayStation? Um ... maybe you should see if there is still a market for your product, by then. You know, like you should have done with the PS3?
  • Kid Icarus flying to the Wii?
Utilizing the functionality of the Wiimote, players will have to flap both arms, vigorously, to fly in-game. Exhausting for the player, but hilarious for the common observer.
  • EA buys social network Rupture for Warhammer Online?
Thorg the Undead Elf wants to be your friend. Accept / Reject.
