During its WWDC keynote address on Monday, Apple announced HomeKit, the company's attempt at home automation. When connected to compatible devices, you'll be able to turn lights on and off, lock doors, adjust your thermostat, and more. They're not the first company to get into this business, but, so far, no one has made the idea of a "smart home" really take off for the masses.
