By Martin Schneider, dealnews contributor

Today's roundup of video game deals combines some fun new games with insane values from yesteryear. Max Payne 3 came out in May, got awesome reviews — now you can get it at a fantastic price; the story on Uncharted 3 is pretty similar. Meanwhile, load up on super-cheap used PS2 games or pick up Karaoke Revolution: Glee for less than a sawbuck. And check out our other video game deals for more great titles at great prices!

  1. 5 Used PlayStation 2 Games
    Vendor: GameStop
Price: $1 with free in-store pickup
    Expires: September 30

Is It Worth It?: One of the best value strategies for casual gamers is to seek out games that were popular a couple years back. The gameplay isn't any different, and you can often find gems that you missed, and pay practically nothing for them. For instance, at participating GameStop retail locations, buy any five used PlayStation 2 games (priced 99 cents or less) and get all five for $1. There's lots to choose from including Gran Turismo 3, ATV Offroad Fury 2, Medal of Honor Frontline, Lord of the Rings, The Two Towers, and Ace Combat 4.

Similarly, when you buy any two used PlayStation 2 games priced at $3.99 or less, you can get two more for free. Games that are priced at exactly $3.99 include SSX 3, Bond 007: Everything Or Nothing, MX vs ATV Unleashed, Hulk, Yu-gi-oh! The Duelist of the Roses, Ghost Recon 2, Medal of Honor European Assault, and many more.

  2. Used Enslaved: Odyssey to the West for Playstation 3 or Xbox 360

    Vendor: Best Buy
Price: $4.99 with free shipping or free in-store pickup

    Lowest By: $5

Is It Worth It?: Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is a popular entry to the action adventure platformer category. IGN noted that "a strong script, great level design, and a unique look help Enslaved bring something different and interesting to the table." The game's story was developed by Alex Garland, the man who wrote the movie 28 Days Later, and the production also benefited from the motion-capture genius of Gollum himself, Andy Serkis. Now Best Buy offers an Editors' Choice deal on used Enslaved: Odyssey to the West for PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 games. They're just $4.99. Note that the Xbox 360 version includes free shipping, but the PS3 is available for in-store pickup.

  3. Uncharted 3: Collector's Edition for PlayStation 3
    Vendor: Walmart
    Price: $39.96 with $1.97 s&h
    Lowest By: $3

Is It Worth It?: In its 9.5/10 review of Uncharted 3, Game Informer gushed, "From a technical perspective, Uncharted 3 is stunning," singling out "the game's vivid colors, expert cinematography, and lush scenery." Now fans of the franchise can supplement their enjoyment with an authentic Nathan Drake statue by Sideshow Collectibles, wearable Nathan Drake belt buckle replica, wearable Nathan Drake ring replica with necklace strap, exclusive Collector's Edition Steelbook game case, and "Traveling Chest"-themed packaging, all for only $39.96 at Walmart with the Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Collector's Edition for PlayStation 3. (You get the game too, of course.)

  4. Karaoke Revolution: Glee Volume 3 for Xbox 360
    Vendor: Play Canada via Amazon
Price: $6.61 with free shipping via Prime
    Lowest By: $9

Is It Worth It?: Now you can relive all of your favorite moments from Season 2 of Glee with this Editors' Choice deal on Karaoke Revolution: Glee Volume 3 for Xbox 360 (pictured), available for $5.29, a low by $7. We singled this out for an Editor's Choice as Capsule Computers gives it a rating of 9/10, calling it "a ton of fun."

Meanwhile, Big Game Vendor via Amazon offers Prime members the same 35-song video game, Karaoke Revolution: Glee Volume 3 for Nintendo Wii for $6.23 a low by $8. Choose from contemporary hits and classic tunes from Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel, Whitney Houston, and many more.

  5. Max Payne 3 for Xbox 360
    Vendor: newegg
    Price: $24.99 with free shipping
    Lowest By: $9

Is It Worth It?: Max Payne is Mark Wahlberg's favorite video game hero, and, in an Editor's Choice deal, newegg is offering Max Payne 3 for Xbox 360 for $24.99. IGN calls the game "a fascinating portrait of a man" that tells "a great, action-packed story that runs in-stride with Max's inner turmoil." You wouldn't think that a story about someone basically called Maximum Pain would be that poignant, but wonders never cease.

Update: Even better, Best Buy now offers Max Payne for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC for just $19.99. Deal ends September 28.
