Let's face it: The month of March is essentially one Spring Break after another. Lists of the top party hotspots have been circulating for the last couple of months now. Whether it's a ranking of 10 or 25, there always seems to be a few places that repeatedly make the cut.
We decided to round up some of those more ubiquitous locations, and check out the deals that go with them.
Good ol' PCB. A true Spring Break classic, and referred to by some as the "Spring Break Capital of the World," Panama City Beach routinely makes the top of the list year after year for the best party.
It's not just a haven of cheap drinks and live music, either. The hotspot is so popular it has a website dedicated just to Spring Break. It details the kinds of events we expect to see, but it also includes more low key entertainment. Inexpensive packages featuring snorkeling, deep sea fishing, and trips to Ripley's Believe It Or Not! and Wonderworks museums are just some of the out-of-the-box activities you can find.
DealTip: Panama City Beach tends to be pretty affordable, especially during the month of March. Recently, we've seen deals from BookIt via ShermansTravel for 3-night stays starting at $64 per night. We've also seen other listings on ShermansTravel offering a free night when you book a 3-night stay.
A big part of Tampa's appeal is that it's reasonably priced overall. Parties are sure to be found here, but at the same time, those looking for a vacation and not just a week-long party will be happy as well. Activities like kayaking, fishing, sailing, dolphin cruises, and more make this spot ideal for both families and the younger crowd.
DealTip: Lately, we've seen some notable deals via DealBase, including Delta flights to Tampa from select cities for as low as $98. Plus, LMT Club via goSeek cut room prices at the 4-star InterContinental Tampa so much a few weeks ago, rates were starting at $143 per night. With prices that low, splitting costs with friends is easy.
To say Myrtle Beach is a top choice for Spring Break is an understatement. Another location that manages to appeal to both independent students as well as families with younger kids, this spot seems to have something for everyone. Families will undoubtedly enjoy the Family Kingdom amusement park, while students can hit up the famed Señor Frogs.
DealTip: Earlier this month, VisitMyrtleBeach via both Travelzoo and Dunhill Travel showcased excellent room rates at select resorts in Myrtle Beach. At the time, Travelzoo had prices as low as $35 per night, while Dunhill Travel was still a fantastic bargain at $39 per night.
Cancun was practically made for Spring Break. It never fails to make the list of top beach destinations in the world, and for a really good reason. The note-worthy beaches are home to all-inclusive resorts where guests can soak up the sun with their drink of choice in hand.
DealTip: Flights to Cancun on Frontier Airlines via DealBase hit lows of $59 in the last few weeks. And their all-inclusive resorts have posted excellent discounts as well. BookIt also recently highlighted 5-night stays for two at the Sunset Marina Resort and Yacht Club with prices starting at $610, which was a great deal for two people. Take your significant other, or your best friend. Either way it's sure to be a good time.
If all these beachy breakouts don't appeal to you, consider checking out NOLA for an escape with a different flavor. Parties with famously potent cocktails are abundant, but it's also easy to get some distance from the wilder scene if you prefer. Cajun cuisine and beignets are must-haves during your visit. There's also a multitude of historical tours (as well as things like ghost and vampire tours) and riverboat cruises.
DealTip: Vacation packages to The Big Easy from Expedia were recently as low as $840 for a 4-night flight and hotel package for two, with stays at the 4-star InterContinental New Orleans. Trivago also showed some deep discounts on select 4- and 5-star hotels, with prices starting at $86 per night and included the Hilton, Le Méridien, Le Pavillon Hotel, and more.
Even if you haven't booked a trip for your Spring Break yet, that doesn't mean you have to sit at home with your feet in a kiddie pool. As you can see, an awesome getaway is still well within your reach.
