This Week's Rumor Roundup: BMW, GTA, PSP, 007, more

Rumors: The Internet's X-Mas gifts to the world! (No returns allowed.)
  • Run Windows Media Player and speed up World of Warcraft?
My mind just cannot comprehend that a Microsoft product could speed ANYTHING up. I think I need to sit down.
  • BMW getting iPod docks?
That makes their cars the most expensive iPod accessories we've ever seen.
  • PlayStation One games can play on the PSP?
Via the PS3. Sony suggests that you also have a PS2 in the room, when trying this ... for no other reason then that they could really, REALLY use the additional cash.
  • Digg to sell for $300 Million?
If you listen closely, you can hear Kevin Rose's head swelling, even further, to massive proportions - something that the doctors would have sworn was an impossibility. Expect The Rose to get even more annoying, if this is true.
PS - Look out, Mr. Facebook, you're probably gonna have to crank up your "obnoxious, full-of-yourself" persona if you want to retain the title of "The Internet's Most Annoying 'Personality'."
  • Xbox 360 interferes with wireless signals?
The M'Soft tried to build it to only interfere with Apple's Airports, but subtlety isn't their forte.
  • GTA IV to be "cut" to get a better rating?
Players will no longer be allowed to kill hookers and cops - but they can beat them within an inch of their lives and leave them for dead ... See the difference? That's what makes it acceptable for kids and not just adults!
  • New 007 movie to be called "007"?
Producer: Hey, what's this movie about, anyway?
Writer: James Bond, you know ... Double-Oh-Seven?
Producer: Hold everything! I've got a GREAT idea!
For similar naming conventions, see also: "Love and Basketball", "Star Wars", and "Ernest Saves Christmas"
Jeff Somogyi is a dealnews Senior Staffwriter. His signal also interferes with wireless networks ... but not in the way that you think.
