Notations: Banana Republic Monogram

Published
Banana Republic recently launched its Monogram line, a collection of exceptionally high-quality apparel and accessories. The overall aesthetic is similar to the Banana we all know and love, but with Monogram, the materials -- including silk, cashmere, and linen -- are finer and the crafting relies heavily on traditional tailoring. But, of course, all the English tailoring in the world can't make an item fit all body types, so the store offers free tailoring for all customers, making it a step above traditional mass retailors.

What this means is you may pay more in the long run, but you'll have clothing of designer quality that will fit like a dream and, with proper care, will last you for years to come. And when compared to luxury department store prices, Monogram is still relatively inexpensive. Prices range from $65-$225, and our favorite item so far is this Wool Blend Navy Pencil Skirt for $110 (though we'll take the entire ensemble).

While the collection is already being sold in 30 different Banana Republics across the nation, the brand opened its first Monogram-only location in New York. The store, which features an in-store tailor and boutique-interior details, is at the moment a temporary fixture as the company tests its freestanding appeal. Of course, you can always shop the Monogram collection online, from the comfort of your own home.
