Roundtrip Fares to New York

Walt Whitman once said, "Give me such shows — give me the streets of Manhattan!" And that's New York in a nutshell, as the city itself is a main attraction. Book a roundtrip United Airlines flight to Newark International Airport (from $119.80, a low by $15; expires October 1) and hightail it to Times Square for a front row seat to the weird and wonderful scenes the Big Apple has to offer. But sure to also spend some time in the other boroughs, too! The Statue of Liberty rests between Manhattan and Staten Island; PS1 in Queens has wonderful art year-round; the Bronx Zoo is not to be missed; and Prospect Park in Brooklyn is home to a variety of museums and greenery. What's more, you'll be able to afford to see and do more than you think, as United Airlines fares are at their third-lowest rate of the year.

See the Second City

Chicago may not be a city that doesn't sleep, and it's certainly not the sun-kissed city of angels, but this metropolis has much to offer in spite of its infamous gusty breezes. In fact, the sprawling urban landscape boasts impressive modern architecture, spectacular lake views, legendary blues, a burgeoning culinary scene, and hysterical improv. Put yourself in the heart of the vibrant Midwest with a roundtrip flight on United Airlines (from $167.80, a low by $18; expires October 15), and then head downtown to the Mag Mile, Navy Pier, and the Bean.

Get California Dreamin'

There are plenty of things we love about California. From its vineyards, beaches, and redwoods, to the glam of Hollywood and the rich Mexican-American culture, there's a lot to see and do in California. And fortunately there are also plenty of ways to get there on the cheap. For those who have an allegiance to United Airlines, you can book a roundtrip flight down the coast for just $138 (a low by $20, expires September 30). For the loyal American Airlines flyer, roundtrip flights also start at $138 (a low by $17, expires September 30) from within the Golden State. But who could pass up a roundtrip flight between Vegas and LAX on Virgin America (from $48.90, a low by $13, expires September 30)?

Viva Las Vegas

Speaking of Vegas, United Airlines has slashed prices on fares to Sin City to their lowest of the year, making these roundtrip flights a safe bet. Book a trip from Philadelphia to Las Vegas for as little as $192.60 (a low by $20, expires September 30); New Orleans to Las Vegas (from $216.60); or Austin to Las Vegas (from $266.60), and enjoy The Strip's vibrant nightlife, cuisine, and, of course, card tables. And while you're at it, why not book a stay at the LVH Hotel and Casino (from $29.95 at checkout, a low by $20; expires September 30)? While it's slightly off the main drag, this nightly rate is the lowest price we've ever seen on stays here.

Airfare to Canada

Head north to Canada via an Air Canada 1-way flight to Toronto (from $95.82, a low by $16; expires September 30) to immerse yourself in a melting pot of different cultures, festivals, and cuisines. Toronto boasts a wealth of attractions, but the CN Tower literally stands above the rest as the city's "top" attraction. If you're feeling adventurous you can take an Edge Walk at 1,168 feet above the ground. But for anyone who starts to feel dizzy just looking at such a number, the tower is also home to the 360 Restaurant, which offers dinner and a magnificent revolving view of Toronto without requiring that you dangle from any great height.

Fly to the UK and Ireland

Home to a tiny Prince, the 2012 Olympics, and centuries of history and culture, the UK is the perfect vacation destination for travelers who don't want to fumble with dictionaries and translation tools. It's also a great place to visit thanks to Aer Lingus: roundtrip flights to Manchester start at $734.68. To the east, a roundtrip flight to Shannon, Ireland (from $536.36, a low by $33; expires September 30) will put you near(ish) the hometown of dealnews' third office. You'll also find charming emerald countrysides, warm people, and pubs galore.

Visit Tahiti

We've all dreamed of the cool, clear waters of the South Pacific. But a trip to the tropical destination of Tahiti is not only far from the US, but is also a far extension of so many travelers' budgets. That is, until now. Roundtrip flight to French Polynesia on Air Tahiti depart from Los Angeles and are still eight hours long, but they're priced from just $1,248.10 (a low by $436; expires September 30). Even East Coasters can make their way halfway around the world for under $2,000; for a mere additional $99, you can fly from NYC to LAX (and 16 other cities) and then to Tahiti (from $1,612.10, a low by $1,318; expires September 30).

Explore China and Japan

Much like Tahiti, flying to Asia isn't usually fast or cheap. But with a seat aboard a United Airlines plane, a roundtrip flight to Asia starts at just $766.50 (at checkout, a low by $274; expires October 15). As such, flights to China and Japan are at their lowest rates of the year! While Abu Dhabi may be one of the richest cities in the world, you don't have to be a billionaire to visit for a week. Your savings can start the second you book a roundtrip flight to Abu Dhabi from New York City or Washington, D.C. on Etihad Airways (from $1,041.10, a low by $10; expires September 30). Regardless of where you stay in this cosmopolitan city, be sure to take in a view of the city's modern skyline from the Marina. The architecture of Capital Gate, Sheikh Zayed Mosque, and the Etihad Towers are also must-sees, as are the capital city's parks, gardens, and six miles of beaches.

Fly Air France to Turkey

Don't let an unfavorable exchange rate stop you from experiencing the art and culture of Europe! Visit the Turkish capital of Istanbul on a roundtrip Air France flight (from $559.14, a low by $135; expires September 30). Thanks to the They Might Be Giants song, we all know that Istanbul was once Constantinople, the jewel in the Byzantine empire. And Istanbul remains a host to historic religious buildings, including Hagia Sophia.

For the ultimate budget traveler, CNN Money recommends a visit to Budapest (from $881.76) where the U.S. dollar has the most value. According to CNN Money, your money will go very far there; in fact, $204.57 can get you a 2-night stay at a 3-star hotel, return airport transportation, a Coca-Cola, a beer, a glass of wine, a 3-course meal with wine, admission to an art gallery, a museum, a heritage site, a bus tour, and a 48-hour travel card.
