If you subscribe for one year it is actually $50 so this deal is actually a savings of five dollars.

As to Appletv+, yah, no way would we permanently subscribe to it - there's simply not enough content to justify that. We got 12 months, then twice extended free thru, I recall about 18 months. And we did pay for another several months since second seasons of shows come out. But then the content dried up. So we'll likely subscribe for a period again once enough new content has reloaded.

Yah, Dealnews is transparent about how they pay for the site right up in the banner… but they are not so transparent when they conveniently exaggerate deals occasionally. Very rare to see them understate the savings in a deal.

They obviously get paid to market this. Nobody is buying it because apple tv is terrible so DN is trying to sell it for them by skewing the price while also making some money themselves. Essentially a shill post

Not cool to try to compare "apples" to oranges by starting with the monthly price $4.99 ($5 x 12 = $60) since this deal is not a monthly offer!
